- Concepted game idea under strict constraints
- Developed procedural obstacle generation
- Balanced obstacles' spawn rate and speed for characters' jump and air roll
- Created pixel art for all game assets and character animations
Description
Try to outlast two of your friends in a local multiplayer endless runner. Here's the catch, you only have one button each. Time your jumps and air rolls and avoid alternate-colored obstacles to make it farther against the increasing onslaught of challenges.
For the Summer Slow Jams July 2019 game jam, I developed and published my first game on itch.io in 7 days. Inspired by the classic flash game, Fireboy and Watergirl, I used each of the three allotted colors to represent an element (a component of light). Each color could safely interact only with obstacles of its respective color. With the constraints and the deadline of the game jam, I was able to finish my first game. The jam was a great learning experience and a kickstart to my journey in game development.
